The art of creative process is pivotal to Alison’s art practice, focusing on the interpretation and narrative of the objects we treasure and the issues that shape our lives. Alison explores concealed values with a visual language which embraces the processes of digital manipulation, moulding, sculpting, embossing, and casting leading to drawn, printed, ceramic and glass artworks. The arrangement and combination of elements within her work are often spontaneous at the time of creation, whilst underpinned by close initial observation.
Using recycled materials whenever possible Alison manipulates glass fusing, slumping and casting to create beautiful glass coasters, lattice dishes and unique mixed media sculptural objects and forms:
Alison has extensive experience in picture framing, gilding, restoration and conservation taking great pleasure in working with clients to find just the right framing outcomes to suit the artwork or object, also using her skills to conserve and restore period artwork and historic frames back to their former glory.
Alison has a strong background in art education from primary to degree level and can offer a broad range of Art Experiences for all ages.
